Cinephilia INSPIRE Residency (CIR) is a program launched by Cinephilia Productions in 2016 in New York City. CIR aims to provide an inspiring program and an evaluative time for career and emerging screenwriters and film directors from the Middle East and North Africa to pursue their individual practice and profit from the inspiration found in the diverse cultural landscape of New York City. CIR is open to screenwriters and film directors working on developing their first, second or third fiction or documentary feature film project.

Cinephilia Productions is a space of inventive possibilities and novel ventures. It is a progressive approach at independent cinema that centers on perpetual versatility. Cinephilia is an incubator project founded in New York City in 2010 by American-Lebanese film director Darine Hotait. Cinephilia is dedicated to the development of filmmakers from the Middle East and Africa through its various initiatives that occupy the space between ideation and production. Cinephilia is a platform designed to embody cinema as a genuine art form. Our approach to storytelling bridges literature and cinema by focusing on genres such as, auteur, biopic, science fiction, avant-garde poetry and literary adaptation.
